• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws by examining documents and possessions to determine citizenship or compliance issues
• Pursuing undocumented non-citizens and smugglers at or near the borders through strategic surveillance operations using advanced technology such as infrared scopes during nighttime activities
• Analyzing tracks, marks, and other physical evidence left behind by unauthorized entrants or contraband carriers
