Pharmacy Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient interactions, and maintaining pharmacy operations. Duties

• Assist pharmacists with dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
• Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed
• Prepare and label medications under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
• Interact with patients to answer basic questions and direct them to appropriate staff for further assistance
• Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and patient interactions
• Support medication administration processes by verifying prescriptions and assisting with documentation
• Use medical terminology correctly when communicating with healthcare professionals and patients
• Uphold patient care standards by maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating professionalism at all times

Qualifications

• Prior hospital experience or pharmacy technician experience is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
• Experience in patient care environments is preferred
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
• Willingness to learn pharmacy operations and expand knowledge of pharmaceuticals
• Strong communication skills to interact compassionately with patients and healthcare staff
