Casual Outside Maintenance Technician

• Ensure all aspects of the grounds and outdoor areas of Sifton-owned townhomes, common areas, and parks are well-maintained and safe, providing a pleasant environment for our tenants and the community. 
• Responsible for landscaping, patio levelling, retaining walls, and drainage.
• Responsible for exterior building maintenance and repair, including roofs, eavestroughs & soffit, window and door sills, and brick repair, garbage collection, snow and ice removal and salting.
• Work collaboratively to address work orders in a timely fashion while providing an outstanding customer service experience.

• Prior experience in a landscape or grounds maintenance environment preferred.
• Experience in general repairs such as caulking, asphalt repairs, patio/ stone work, water leaks and drainage intervention; maintenance experience of garbage/recycling, lawn maintenance, snow and ice removal and salting.
• Working at Heights certification is required. 
• Ability to perform physical job functions during all weather conditions.
• Strong maintenance/ repair aptitude, and ability to multitask and complete a variety of general maintenance repairs. 
• Able to work independently with accountability and flexible to work with other team members as required. 
• Displays initiative in problem-solving and in engaging with tenants and the team to achieve positive outcomes. 
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
• Strong customer service focus, respectful of privacy and personal spaces, with a positive and friendly demeanour. 
• General awareness and a strong commitment to the safe operation of grounds maintenance equipment and other safety protocols. 
• Self-motivated and energetic, able to work well within a team environment. Good communication skills and a positive customer service focus. 
• Dependable transportation, a valid driver's license, and the ability to report for flexible work schedules.
