Typical assignments include:

• Enforcing customs laws to prevent smuggling of prohibited items into the United States;
  P&Assisting travelers crossing U.S. ports of entry;
  
• Determining admissibility of foreign nationals entering or returning to the U.S.;
  The CBP offers many opportunities for career advancement within law enforcement offices across various locations throughout North America.
  P&To be eligible for this position applicants must have completed 52 weeks at grade level GS-5,​​GS-7 or hold other equivilant experience;
