About the Position
The Customs and Border Protection Officer plays a vital part in enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. They are responsible for conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances, determining admissibility for entry into the United States, preventing illegal entry and smuggling activities.
Duty Locations & Incentives
Candidates will be asked to provide preference for one of several mission-critical locations across the country. Some duty stations offer recruitment incentives ranging from $15,000 up to $45,000 per year based on service contracts.
Salary & Benefits Information
- GS-9 base salary: $61,111 - $124,443 per year
The position comes with eligibility for federal employment benefits including health insurance plans,
generous annual leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan.
