Job Description:
What you will do
General Responsibilities
Follows all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. Ensures all PET Techs are following as well.
Leads and gives direction to technologist and technologist aide staff
Provides feedback for technologist career ladder/ performance evaluation.
Organize and assign work to maintain an efficient multi-task environment.
Assume responsibility for decisions made in all clinical operations and procedures in conjunction with management.
Maintain current technologist’s credentials and CEU records and work with credentialing department to keep up to date.
Assist Safety Officer with OSHA training, Blood Borne pathogens training, monthly job safety training, fire drills, and mock codes.
Periodically review injury reports for employees and patients and determines training and safety needs.
Periodically review Site Manuals for DPH readiness
Ensure Quality Assurance is up-to-date with PACS systems, Patient Image Quality, Sectra
Assist Chief Tech in ACR accreditation process
Assist Chief Tech in research protocols
Assume call in Chief PET Techs absence
Patient Care
Assumes responsibility for delivering patient care by following all responsibilities outlined in PET Technologist Job Description.
Initiates, monitors and terminates procedures after consultation with Authorized User/Medical Director
Assists Chief Tech with patient related complaints/issues
Equipment
Has a thorough working knowledge of equipment currently in use
Assist Chief Tech in establishing a schedule of preventative maintenance and assures proper documentation of such
In the event of improperly functioning equipment, notifies the proper parties to correct the situation and/or secure additional equipment for use
Assures adequate supplies of medical and radiographic supplies
Assist Chief in monitoring all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually Quality Control on camera and ancillary equipment
Evaluation of Equipment and Education
Assumes responsibility for teaching and planning proper cleaning of equipment
Assists in developing new procedural techniques and implementing such techniques or protocols as directed by the Medical Director.
Cooperates in the orientation and training of new protocols.
Participates in and attends staff meetings
Works to promote a sense of worth in all personnel by recognition of their individual contributions to the center's team.
Continually strives to maintain and upgrade competence, education and skills. Utilizes professional resources as well as self-motivational techniques to do so.
What you need:
Must posses an Associates of Applied Science Degree or higher degree from an approved collegiate or hospital based Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Therapy Program
Be CNMT or ARRT certified
PET certification preferred and must be pursued when hired if not already obtained.
CPR Certification
Must have at least 6 months of PET or PET/CT experience and have adequate on-the-job training on maintenance of equipment.
Able to identify or detect and correct any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions or, if unable to do so, able to contact proper resource for repair.
Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds. All requirements can be made with or without accommodation.
Additional Job Description:
Pay range for this position is $50 - $65/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

The incumbent will perform work of a lower or equivalent classification as required or directed, and work of higher classification for training and development purposes or as situationally warranted.
