Border Patrol Agent Job Description

The U.S. Border Patrol is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join its team of law enforcement professionals. As a Border Patrol Agent , you will play a critical role in safeguarding the nation's borders, preventing illicit activity, and enhancing economic prosperity.

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws


• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations


• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders


• Maintain surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations


• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for mission accomplishment.
