Engineering Summer Student

Mancal Energy Inc. (MEI) is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Summer Student to support our Engineering team for the 2026 summer season. This internship offers the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience in modelling, data analysis, and preparing technical presentations to real-world energy sector projects. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with MEI's Engineering Team on projects, research, data analysis and trend predictions across MEI's Core Areas.

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the following:

• Assisting with analysis of operational data
• Support the preparation of technical documents, reporting and presentations
• Process simulation modelling and performance prediction, trend analysis and recommendations
• Introduction to new technologies and equipment and how they relate to optimization
• Work with production engineer to review data validation and correction workflow
• Participate in technical team meetings and provide technical opinions and feedback

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

To meet the challenge of this role, we are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, self-starter who works well in high levels of autonomy.

• Completion of 2nd year Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or other related field, or completion of 1-year graduate studies in a related field at an accredited post-secondary institution
• Previous work experience is an asset
• Strong data analysis skills and prior use of PowerBI is an asset
• Working knowledge of engineering concepts
• Confident, detail-oriented, demonstrates initiative, and enthusiastic team player
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
