Overview
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and supporting store operations in a fast-paced grocery environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and a passion for helping customers find what they need. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, but not required. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales and merchandising skills while contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and quickly
  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product demos when necessary
  • Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with accuracy
  • Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities
  • Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure shelves are stocked and well-presented
  • Assist with merchandising, stocking, and inventory management tasks
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving concerns professionally
  • Maintain proper phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or in person
  • Support supervising staff as needed, including overseeing sales floor activities during shifts

Qualifications

  • Prior retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
  • Strong communication skills and excellent customer service abilities
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
  • Ability to upsell products and conduct product demos effectively
  • Bilingual language skills are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
  • Supervising experience is a plus but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued
  • Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail operations preferred
  • Friendly attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; previous phone etiquette experience is beneficial

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Work Location: In person
