About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Accountant to provide high-level financial leadership and oversight across our clinics and programs (up to 20 hours per week).
This role focuses on financial governance, risk management, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and board-level reporting. The Accountant will work closely with the Executive Director and Finance Committee to ensure strong financial stewardship, sustainability planning, and organizational accountability.
This is a strategic finance role designed to support leadership decision-making and long-term financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Accountability
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with internal policies, statutory requirements, and accounting standards.
- Oversee financial governance practices to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Monitor financial integrity across multiple programs and funding streams.
Strategic Financial Direction & Risk Management
- Identify and assess financial risks, providing proactive recommendations to the Executive Director.
- Support strategic allocation of overhead and resources to align with organizational priorities.
- Develop financial models and analyses to inform high-level strategy and long-term sustainability.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budget development process across multiple contracts, programs, and clinics.
- Ensure budgets align with strategic priorities and Board expectations.
- Monitor performance against budget, prepare variance analyses, and recommend adjustments.
- Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support leadership decision-making.
Board & Committee Reporting
- Prepare board-ready financial packages for the Board of Directors and Finance Committee.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to the Executive Director and Finance Committee.
- Lead and coordinate annual audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Qualifications:
- CPA designation (or substantial progress toward designation) strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in financial oversight, budgeting, and strategic financial planning
- Experience supporting boards or finance committees is an asset
- Strong understanding of nonprofit or healthcare financial environments is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professional judgment
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity while supporting multiple programs
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
