Our challenge
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Senior QA Automation Engineer (SDET) to join our dynamic, global QA team. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments and is passionate about implementing robust automation solutions. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, developers, external vendors, and other QA teams across geographically dispersed teams and contribute to ongoing and new initiatives within an Agile framework, utilizing methodologies such as Scrum, Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.
The Role – SDET
Responsibilities:
Hands-on Automation: Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for web and backend applications, ensuring high coverage and reliability.
Test Infrastructure: Design and build scalable test harnesses and infrastructure to facilitate efficient automated testing.
Continuous Testing & Deployment: Integrate automation testing into CI/CD pipelines, supporting frequent, incremental code releases.
End-to-End Testing: Automate comprehensive end-to-end test scenarios across frontend and backend systems, leveraging strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
QA Process Ownership: Take ownership of requirement analysis, test plan creation, automation development, and defect analysis.
Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with developers, business units, and global stakeholders to define QA standards and drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Issue Communication: Provide timely, clear updates on testing progress, key issues, and risks.
Technical Leadership: Collaborate with technical leads to optimize testing strategies, especially at the architectural level, and ensure systems function effectively in distributed architectures.
Innovative Problem Solving: Build software solutions around ambiguous or evolving problems, ensuring comprehensive testing of distributed systems.
Requirements:
Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in QA automation with Java in an enterprise environment.
Automation Tools & Frameworks: Proficiency in developing automation for web applications using Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools, along with BDD frameworks like Cucumber.
Experience with Rest Assured for backend API testing.
Agile Development: Proven experience working within Agile teams and delivering automated testing solutions in Scrum environments.
Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of software testing concepts, database concepts, and core Java programming.
Testing Types: In-depth knowledge of various testing strategies, including functional, integration, regression, client/server, white-box, black-box, and database testing.
Design & Analysis: Strong test design skills, including creating test cases, automation scripts, and analyzing test results.
CI/CD Integration: Experience setting up and working with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
Distributed Systems: Ability to understand and test interactions within distributed system architectures.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong aptitude for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and innovative testing approaches.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Preferred, but not required:
Knowledge in Protractor, TypeScript, or Python scripting.
Familiarity with additional open-source testing tools and cloud-based testing environments.
