À propos
OceanMD, a WELLSTAR Company, is the leading provider of EMR-integrated Patient Engagement and eReferral tools in Canada, playing a critical role in millions of patient visits and thousands of referrals every week. Our digital healthcare solutions empower patients and physicians to overcome the barriers preventing the timely delivery of healthcare services. By replacing paper forms with digital tools, we give patients and providers secure ways to connect, share health information, and update patient records. Our tools:
Empower patients to share health information with their physician before, during, and after visits, helping to ensure health records are up to-date and accurate while improving patient care.
Meet the growing demand for digital solutions with online booking and secure messaging that improve the patient experience, reduce the need for unnecessary phone calls, and make clinics more efficient.
Improve access to care by replacing faxes, displaying wait times, and reducing the time to process and access specialist referrals.
Who we need
Reporting to the VP, Product & Interoperability, we are hiring an Integration Analyst. As the primary point of contact, you will field all support tickets, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions to public-sector clients and technology partners as they integrate with Ocean's HL7 FHIR-based solutions. You will bring technical, code-level expertise to support FHIR APIs, address technical inquiries, troubleshoot errors, identify gaps or bugs, and review partner payloads. Additionally, you will champion best practices, ensure adherence to standards, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
This job posting is for an existing vacancy that is a full-time hybrid role working 3 days per week on-site in our midtown Toronto office.
Who you are
You are looking for a unique opportunity that combines digital or e-health, bridges the private and public sectors, and makes a meaningful impact at both the clinical and patient care levels. Your path to this role might vary. You could have a technical background as a Developer exploring a new career direction, or experience working at a B2B support desk, seeking a company that builds purpose-driven technology. Regardless of your background, you excel at listening, asking insightful questions, and translating complex technical information into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences.
What's in it for you
Impact and influence. We are creating solutions for the healthcare industry that patients and providers are excited to use. This is an exciting time for growth as we expand across Canada. A place to grow your career and your skills. You will immerse yourself in learning about what we do and understanding the impact we make on the lives of Canadians as we bring an empowering service to them. We are looking for individuals who are committed to our work and want to help us grow as a company. As we continue to scale, we will take you on the journey with us, where you will have professional development, recognition, and growth opportunities.
How you will make an impact
Support integrations. You will respond to technical questions from integrators and provide support and guidance as needed. You will troubleshoot integration errors experienced by partners and dive into our product codebase to identify root causes. As needed, you will recommend core product improvements or better instrumentation and error reporting.
Collaborate. You will work with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, training materials, sample code, and technical specifications.
Enhance partnerships. You will build relationships with integrating partners through meetings and periodic outreach to deepen understanding of their product and Ocean integration.
Prioritize continuous improvement. You will stay up to date on digital health integration industry trends and best practices. You will identify opportunities to improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our HL7 FHIR-based software.
What you bring
The passion. You are passionate about our purpose and applying your talents to connect people with technical solutions that make their lives or work more accessible.
The technical background. You have worked on a client-facing technical support desk, and you thrive in its dynamic, quick-turnaround nature. You have technical experience in software development or support, including knowledge of REST API design principles and authorization and authentication frameworks. You are comfortable writing technical documentation. Ideally, you have exposure to technology within the healthcare industry. You should be familiar with HL7 FHIR standards and specifications.
The customer-focus. You have flexible and effective communication and conflict-management skills, and you can translate technical instructions for a non-technical audience. You are empathetic and respond urgently to clients' needs, prioritizing issues to meet deadlines. You can earn trust, serve as an advisor, and build internal relationships.
The analytical approach. You are naturally curious. You are a critical thinker who can creatively solve problems, and you continuously pursue knowledge. You are inspired by a dynamic environment and can rise to the challenge of competing priorities. You can dig deep to understand the root cause of technical issues and translate complex solutions for a non-technical audience.
