Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) is a fast-growing vibrant organization committed to the development and progress of its Band Members and Community. As such, the TteS invites applications from qualified, highly motivated and dynamic individuals to fill the following position.
POSITION TITLE: Project Coordinator (Backfill)
DEPARTMENT: Planning and Engineering
SUPERVISOR: Planning and Engineering Manager
TERMS: Full-Time, Term

Purpose of Position:
Reporting to the Planning & Engineering Manager, the Project Coordinator supports the management, development, and implementation of capital projects, including Le Estcwicwéy̓ (The Missing) Residential School and other community projects. The Project Coordinator ensures that projects are completed successfully on time, on budget, and in accordance with TteS objectives.
The Project Coordinator is a project-critical role where sound judgement, reporting, and team-management skills are required. The Project Coordinator will be scheduling and leading meetings to achieve project objectives, and managing between 3-7 consultant groups to meet project scope deliverables.
The Project Coordinator is a talented, multi-tasking individual who is self-motivated, curious, and has the ability to embrace diverse challenges while being focused on end results. The Project Coordinator communicates extensively with TteS Project Managers in all aspects of a development project — from conceptual planning, feasibility analyses, municipal approvals, community and stakeholder consultation, funding applications, construction oversight through to completion and project close-out.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities: (95%)
This position reports directly to specific TteS Project Managers and responsibilities include:
Arranging and chairing meetings, taking minutes, tracking action items.
Managing team schedules
Issuing RFPs, summarizing submissions, notifying proponents of outcomes.
Coordinating public consultation events and neighbourhood engagement.
Management of project consultants to meet project deliverables.
Managing electronic and hard copy files and file sharing sites.
Preparing applications to regulatory bodies, lenders and funders.
Conducting general research and program analysis.
Leading and issuing Requests for Proposals and Tender-Calls.
Assist TteS client departments to clarify their objectives and resources.
Support the management of project workflow.
Manage relationships and coordinate with stakeholders, and project team for the flawless execution of projects.
Coordinate and/or obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
Support reporting to Indigenous Services Canada, First Nations Health Authority, and other funding agencies.
Develop, monitor and update the project scope, budget and schedule.
Complete monthly project reporting including change order management and quality assurance.
Prepare and present reports for TteS leadership regarding status of projects.
Ensure that project milestones are achieved and documented
Organize and manage community consultations and events
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of TteS administrative systems and procedures
Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with TteS policies, standards, and procedures.
Awareness of reconciliation and application of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) in Canada - in all aspects of work with TteS.
Maintain confidentiality on all matters relating to the affairs of TteS.
Other related duties as necessary (5%)
Professional Certification, Education and Experience:
A post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical or related field.
(Management/business, non-profit, real estate, building design, finance, urban planning, and/or engineering, etc.)
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent certification is an asset
3+ years of progressive and proven experience with construction project management representing owners.
Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Drivers Licence.
Knowledge of the construction, appraisal, feasibility analysis, community consultation and municipal development approval processes
Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands simultaneously
Knowledge of government funding mechanisms and approval processes
Strong skills in Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
Financial Responsibility:
This position will track and manage all project accounting with project budgets up to $10 million, following all applicable TteS Financial Administration Law delegations of authority, and preparing procurement request's for review by the project manager.
Supervision or Training Duties:
This position will be the first level of oversight on consultant and contractor agreements in the project budget, and will be required to supervise and manage the project teams to meet schedule and scope objectives.

It is expected that all TteS employees be willing to continuously upgrade their skills and knowledge, and to further their formal training.
An acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
HOURS OF WORK: Normal Day shifts - 7 hours. Non-normal shifts may be required.
PAY GRADE: Starting at $ $38.21 per hour depending on education & experience.
