Area of Responsibility
Reporting to the Manager Purchasing, to promote the most effective use of Corporate funds in the acquisition of goods and services in light of current and future price trends, supply and demand, etc. in accordance with the City's Purchasing By-law.
Conduct research activities from Cooperative buying group (GPO's) to support buyers for leveraging various commodity purchases.
Shadow buyers while leveraging the GPO's arrangement in conducting the procurement process and assist in developing the on-boarding process of these GPOs.
Ensure all such recommendations follow the City's Purchasing By-law, trade agreements, policies, and Supply Chain Diversity requirements.
Research about innovative procurement methodology related to Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) module and use of correct tendering template to conduct procurement process.
Benchmarking about various construction projects delivery methodology being used by other municipalities.
Research Job Order Costing methodology being used by other municipalities to support internal clients within the City.
Work with the Supervisor in developing the Standard Operating Procedure for Asset Disposal Process.
Support the Supervisors regarding upcoming contract expiry dates in line with 180-day report.
Maintain client relationships to contribute to the success of their projects.
Maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all duties.
Performs additional similar and related duties including administration as assigned.
Selection Criteria
Education
Student must be enrolled in any University or College. Proof of enrollment letter will be requested prior to the job offer.
Student must be currently enrolled in a Business Administration, Supply Chain Management similar or equivalent program.
Other Skills And Assests
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and clients to promote positive customer outcomes
Strong analytical skills and detail analysis of the project.
Possess strong computer skills, e.g. MS Office programs including MS Word and Excel.
Ability to prioritize and excellent time management and organizational skills.
