Lohn Caulder LLP is an independent firm of Chartered Professional Accountants, formed in 1978. We are the Vancouver representative of BKR International, an international affiliation of accounting firms. Over the years the firm has built a substantial clientele, with particularly high representation in the following fields: health care, legal services, manufacturing and distribution, computer and software sales and development, real estate and non-profit organizations.
Purpose of Role:
Assist Senior Accountants, Managers and Partners in performing duties for their clients using a variety of administrative skills.
What will your typical day look like?
As an Accounting Technician you will be responsible for financial record-keeping of all client activities and contacting client to request for client documentations. You will also complete other administrative accounting related duties, as required.
Performance Expectations:
Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
Execute high-accuracy data migration of client invoices, expenses, and bank transactions from source documents into accounting software, ensuring all entries are categorized correctly
Correspond with clients on requested documents
Raise identified client issues that need to be addressed with managers and engagement partners
Review own work to detect errors before submission to CPA staff
Credentials:
· Possess a post-secondary degree
· Strong English communication skills - written and verbal
· Experience in an accounting, administrative, and client service environment is preferred
· Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
· Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation
· Results oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines
· A positive "can do" approach
· Works effectively in a team environment
