Position Summary
The Accounting Analyst measures, discloses, and provides appropriate support regarding the management of Strike's finances and taxes. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts, preparing analyses and auditing reports, preparing tax submissions, providing AX/CMiC systems support and communicating with management and associates on all financial related issues.

Core Accountabilities
Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts as assigned such as asset and liability accounts, project, fixed asset and overhead accounts.
Participate in and assist in preparing periodic financial statements
Maintain accurate records for all financial transactions
Develop, analyze and interpret statistics and accounting information in order to appraise profitability, production/budget reconciliation, and overall operating cost-efficiency
Periodic review of accounting records, including but not limited to invoices, journal entries, deposits, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy of records
Prepare entries as required to accurately complete monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
Assist with preparation of statements and supporting schedules for audits and reviews as required
Prepare commodity tax submission and assist Accounting Manager with compliance with federal, provincial, and company guidelines and standards
Ensure accurate expense recognition
Ensure accuracy of fixed assets records by completing asset additions and disposals as required
Assist in reconciling internal accounting discrepancies
Maintain and ensure accuracy to general ledger records, bringing issues to the attention of Accounting Manager or Controller
Keep up-to-date on regulations and procedures for corporate accounting
Liaise with management and associates and advise on cost management control
Support as-needed, specialized, and one-off assignments
Qualifications
Education
Relevant diploma or bachelor's degree (e.g. business administration, accounting, commerce) preferred
Experience
Minimum five years of accounting experience with exposure to full-cycle accounting processes
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Broad understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles
Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS is essential
Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications including, Microsoft Dynamics AX, CMiC, Excel and Word
Experience in oilfield services and/or construction industry is preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to successfully manage priorities to meet weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines
Capable of working independently with minimal direction
Possesses an eye for detail
Proactively seeks and accomplishes tasks that lead to a safe, consistent, efficient, and productive work environment
