Overview of role:

We are looking for an Intermediate Product Owner to join our Mobile Apps team to help build an elevated guest experience. Working alongside the Portfolio Manager and a group of like-minded product owners, developers, and stakeholders, you'll help to build and execute a mobile first strategy to improve guest experience and increase engagement.
The ideal candidate will have experience delivering successful apps in iOS and Android, a strong understanding of best practices in mobile UX and technology, and expert product management skills. They will also be a champion for digital channel performance, delivery and passionate about product development. They will have experience driving app acquisition, conversion, loyalty program engagement, and/or personalization across the platform. This individual should exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoy challenges, be results-driven, and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.

Key deliverables include:
Own and prioritize the product backlog, writing clear user stories and delivering features based on business needs that are aligned to product strategy and OKRs.
Contribute to the strategic vision for the WestJet App. Translate business needs into actionable roadmap initiatives and backlog priorities.
Lead product initiatives end-to-end within an Agile Scrum framework, including discovery, user research, story mapping, requirements documentation, delivery, and ongoing optimization.
Partner closely with Engineering, UX/Design, Research, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather clear requirements, manage expectations, resolve trade-offs, and secure alignment on deliverables.
Define and track success metrics for digital initiatives, championing app performance and driving measurable outcomes.
Analyze guest pain points, competitive digital channels, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities and inform product enhancements.
Collaborate across the organization to implement strategies that increase app adoption, engagement, and awareness of mobile capabilities.
Experience and qualifications:
Completed Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (Technical/ Business/ Science)
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in digital or emerging technology
3+ years of experience working with a mobile product preferred (Knowledge in accessibility, e-commerce, travel, profile, or loyalty is an added benefit)
Experience managing mobile design with a large consumer footprint
Technical understanding of mobile operating systems (iOS, Android)
Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment
Experience defining scope and managing key deliverables for medium and/or large sized initiatives
Experience with software development and an appreciation for project management
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
Experience in conversion optimization testing
Excellent detailed written, verbal, presentation skills
Proven experience in backlog grooming, user story development and prioritization
A working history that shows a commitment to transparency, trust, and collaboration across design, development and stakeholders
A love for education and learning about best-in-class mobile practices, customer experiences, and industry trends
Knowledge in the following (preferred):
Mobile user experience
SCRUM/Agile development
Adobe Analytics and OKRs
Project management
