Job Description We are seeking a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will be pivotal in designing, engineering, and supporting sophisticated physical and cloud-based data center environments. This role encompasses various technologies such as networking, compute, storage, platforms, middleware, databases, and telephony. The ideal candidate will independently assess current and future requirements to deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions, develop and maintain technical standards, and collaborate with technical teams, business partners, and leadership to address data center and cloud infrastructure design challenges. Your Responsibilities Design and develop advanced infrastructure solutions across multiple technologies, ensuring alignment with service level agreements (SLAs). Establish and uphold performance standards for hardware and software, acting as the subject matter expert for emerging technologies and strategic vendor solutions. Lead the infrastructure design for major projects, collaborating with IT stakeholders, service owners, and vendors to ensure architectural integrity. Ensure operational readiness through performance optimization, systems support, incident resolution, and managing software installations and upgrades. Maintain standardized engineering procedures and contribute to the overall architectural roadmap, strategies, and standards. Present innovative technologies to leadership and mentor junior team members to promote growth and consistency within the team. Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (if applicable). 5+ years of experience with RHEL/Linux. In lieu of a degree, 7+ years of experience with RHEL/Linux. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Ansible or other automation tools. Knowledge of Red Hat Satellite. Experience with AWS and/or IBM AIX. Understanding of security hardening techniques (e.g., CIS benchmarks, STIGs). Familiarity with networking, compute, telephony, platforms, middleware, and database solutions. Salary Range At Blue Cross NC, we value fair and equitable compensation that reflects market standards. Our salary range is typically positioned around the midpoint of the listed range. Compensation is based on factors such as experience, specialized skills, and business needs, and includes a robust Total Rewards package with an Annual Incentive Bonus, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits. *Annual bonus based on corporate goals and individual performance.
