About The Role
Supports delivery of optimal playing conditions within approved operating budgets.
Plans, schedules, and supervises maintenance of greens, tees, and fairways, including staff deployment and equipment utilization.
Leads recruitment, training, coaching, and daily supervision of maintenance staff, adjusting work plans as operational needs evolve.
Oversees safe work practices, pesticide applications, irrigation systems, and equipment operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and proper record-keeping.
Conducts regular course inspections, recommends program improvements, and stays current with turf management innovations.
Coordinates construction and renovation projects, maintains operational records (payroll, inventory, weather, safety, chemicals), and supports broader community groundskeeping activities.
Maintains professional communication with golf services to provide course condition updates and uphold organizational standards.
Experience
Degree/diploma/certificate from a recognized Turf Management Program and/or related experience
Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, greens; the seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf; the planting, cultivating, pruning and caring for plants, shrubs and trees; the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and irrigation system, including wells, pumps and automatic controls.
Demonstrated team player who is able to foster relationships with members, residents, guests, and team members.
Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment; to prepare clear and concise reports; and to maintain effective employee and public relations.
Possession of a valid Landscape Exterminator's Licence.
Possession of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) certification (or able to obtain it within 90 days).
Possession of a valid driver's license.
