We are seeking a certified and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this critical role, you will operate a forklift to move, stack, load, and unload materials within our warehouse. Your expertise is essential for the efficient and safe handling of goods, directly contributing to the seamless flow of our Logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, a thorough understanding of warehouse procedures, and a strong commitment to maintaining a secure working environment. You will work in a dynamic setting, ensuring accurate inventory placement and timely movement of products. This position requires alertness, precision, and the ability to follow instructions meticulously. Strict adherence to Safety protocols and the mandatory use of PPE are non-negotiable. The role involves regular physical activity, including getting on and off the forklift, and occasional Lifting of items when needed. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a forklift to move, stack, load, and unload materials within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on the forklift.
- Ensure accurate placement of inventory in designated storage areas.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and securely.
- Follow all warehouse operating procedures and prioritize tasks.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or Safety hazards immediately.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support overall Logistics operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrable experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of equipment Safety and operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to wear required PPE .
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
