We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Portland, Oregon. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution center, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety protocols and possess excellent attention to detail. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a high level of productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets of goods within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring correct placement and securement of products.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock placement as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
