We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our St. Louis, Missouri warehouse. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse. This position requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to navigate a busy logistics environment. You will play a critical part in the movement of goods, ensuring that inventory is handled correctly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, and possesses a valid forklift certification.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Move and stack inventory within the warehouse according to designated locations.
- Inspect forklift equipment before and after each shift, reporting any issues.
- Assist with order picking, put-away, and inventory management tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring pathways are clear.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Follow traffic rules within the warehouse premises.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 50 pounds, and work in varying temperatures.
- Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
