About The Position
The Recruiter will be an integral part of the Human Resources team by leading talent acquisition strategies and activities. This role will engage with regional leadership, in Canada across all business units, to fill staffing needs by implementing sourcing strategies to maximize applicant traction and staffing outcomes. The Recruiter will play a key role in developing the employee value proposition, creating the employer brand for the business and taking it to market. In addition, this role will be responsible for diversifying applicant channels, engaging social media and optimizing recruiting and onboarding processes.
Note: This is a temporary, Full time role
Specific Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Human Resources team and North American leadership determine talent acquisition strategy for the region;
Regularly liaise with the HR team to establish and prioritize hiring needs;
Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of the employee value proposition and employer brand;
Maximize current applicant channels and diversify channels by sourcing new applicant pools and/or platforms;
Proactively engage applicant channels by leveraging current social media accounts;
Design and create social media content to highlight the employer brand and attract applicants;
Review and optimize recruiting and onboarding processes to reduce time to fill and simplify new hire information collection;
Ensure all recruitment related collateral remain current, business relevant and aligned with ALS branding standards;
Assist with conducting full recruiting activities for specialized or senior level roles;
Represent ALS both internally and externally with the goal of networking and relationship building with potential candidates at various events such as job fairs and other recruiting events;
Actively engage line managers and HR team members to gather insight and feedback in order in continuously improve upon and maximize the recruitment function;
Monitor and report on the performance of the recruiting function (e.g. open requisitions, applications received, applicant flow, time to fill etc.);
Assess onboarding processes and take initiative to optimize onboarding activities;
Collect, collate and regularly report on Onboarding Survey data;
Regularly seek market intelligence to gain a competitive advantage by proactively identifying and taking action with respect to emerging talent acquisition trends;
Assist with Human Resources related projects when needed;
Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Project a positive "can do" attitude that galvanizes traction on initiatives;
Excellent understanding of full cycle recruitment processes and knowledge of best practices;
Demonstrated success in proactive recruiting and sourcing diversified applicant pools;
Able to foster relationships within local communities and effectively market the employer brand;
Well versed in utilizing social media to attract candidates and developing engaging content;
Experience in defining the Employee Value Proposition and Employer Branding;
Familiar with applicant tracking systems;
Must convey a positive and professional image at all times;
Able to speak in public and present information to groups;
Possess superior tact and communication skills, both written and verbal;
Able to liaise effectively with fellow team members and internal clients;
Highly self-motivated, able to work independently and effectively prioritize workload;
Superior computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and photo editing software;
Exceptional creativity and demonstrated ability to proactively problem solve.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a university degree and/or college level Human Resources Management program or equivalent is required;
Minimum of 2 years' experience in talent acquisition role;
CPHR designation an asset.
Physical Demands:
Able to travel locally without assistance;
Able to stand for a full shift;
Able to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
