On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Business Analyst to work on a Cybersecurity Project.
Responsibilities:
• Organizing and facilitating requirements elicitation sessions with project stakeholders, team members, and end users;
• Preparing elicitation documents where required (e.g., survey questions);
• Liaising with the business and technology stakeholders to facilitate the development of the business requirements into solutions;
• Leveraging Enterprise Project Management Office processes and tools to create and maintain user stories and acceptance criteria to help stakeholders (business partners, subject matter experts, product owner) and the team to understand the project's requirements;
• Working in collaboration with the team to create the scope of each iteration;
• Translating business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements;
• Determining feasibility of the business requirements and alignment to business needs;
• Troubleshooting and resolving problems by analyzing and developing new approaches to existing practices;
• Collecting and analyzing information and presenting findings on complex issues;
• Researching best practice and incorporating those into analysis;
• Estimating time and resource requirements associated with an initiative (human, financial);
• Performing analysis on project initiatives by applying various analysis techniques such as SWOT, ROI, Gap analysis, and feasibility studies;
• Conducting requirements review walkthrough sessions with user experience/design, technology and end users;
• Reviewing applicable technology prototypes;
• Assisting with the development, issuance, and evaluation of Requests for Proposals (RFP) for technology solutions;
• Creating User Stories and Use Case documents;
• Creating User Acceptance Test Plan and User Acceptance Test Cases where required;
• Creating Requirements Documentation inclusive of requirements, scope, project objectives, business problems and/or opportunities, solution context, functional, non-functional, and data requirements;
• Creating Process Flow diagrams; and
• Completing other work as required by the Government.
Deliverables:
Business Analysis Services
• Stakeholder interviews and consultations, workshops, interviews, and necessary information gathering, decision making sessions;
• Requirements document identifying current and future needs and related documentation;
• Creating and maintaining user stories and acceptance criteria to help stakeholders (business partners, subject matter experts, product owner) and the team to understand the project's requirements;
• Work in collaboration with the team to create the scope of each iteration;
• Development of test plans, test cases/scenarios, test findings and reports, and report specifications;
• User guides and training material;
• Work with Project Manager on the procurement document for a new Solution; and
• Other materials as required by Government.
Documentation
• As required by Government's Agile-Iterative and Hybrid Methodologies
• User guides and training material;
• Meeting minutes;
• Other materials as necessary.
Activities
• Leveraging knowledge and experience to facilitate workshops, interviews, and necessary information gathering and decision making sessions;
• Related documentation;
• Other activities as necessary.
Team Player
• Works closely with the other members of the program and project teams including; Partners and colleagues within IT Shared Services and other Government Departments.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience directly related to IT Business Analysis including but not limited to creating and maintaining user stories and acceptance criteria, business or technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification and process development, overseeing design, development, and implementation of applications and/or information systems;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment, establish priorities, and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts;
Experience in the following is considered an asset for all categories:
• Experience working within the Government of Prince Edward Island;
• Experience eliciting and documenting requirements for digital government and user-centric design projects;
• Experience working with government organizations; and
• Experience with developing procurement documentation including but not limited to business case and RFP development.
Cybersecurity
In addition to the requirements set out for all categories, the resource(s) for Cybersecurity must possess:
• A minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience with security and incident management, deployment and expansion; and
• Experience with identity and access management system selection, procurement, deployment, and expansion
