We are seeking a talented and innovative UX Design Contractor to join our team and help evolve our web-based mental health self-help platform. As a key player in our design process, you will work closely with our product and development teams to create user-friendly and accessible designs that enhance the overall user experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern design principles, accessibility standards, and user-centered design practices.
In this role, you will be responsible for informing brand discussions and implementing design changes that align with our evolving brand identity. Your expertise will guide our transition towards a more user-friendly look and feel while ensuring that our platform remains consistent with our established brand guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to understand user needs and business goals.
- Work with our UX researcher to incorporate feedback based on user research, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that improve user experience and engagement on our platform.
- Stay updated on design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, particularly in accessibility and responsive design.
- Adapt designs based on ongoing brand discussions, user feedback, and industry standards, demonstrating flexibility and creativity.
- Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides and design systems, to ensure consistency across the platform.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Proven experience as a UX Designer, preferably in web-based applications, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design projects.
- In-depth understanding of accessibility standards and best practices, with the ability to implement them effectively in your designs.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, along with a solid understanding of design principles and methodologies.
- Experience with responsive design and familiarity with ReactJS is a significant plus, as we may transition to a native app in the future.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Recruitment Process
1. We will review applications + portfolios and select a group of semi-finalists to participate in a design project (paid, 3 hrs max)
2. We will review the design project and interview finalists with the team
3. We will select one candidate for contract

Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 30 hours per week.
