Border Security Specialist - GS11

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.
• Prevent and apprehend aliens at or near the borders.

The primary responsibilities include:

• Detector work: Identify signs that may indicate someone is trying to cross into the country illegally. This includes reading body language, searching vehicles and cargo, and listening for suspicious sounds.


• Questioning: Ask potential immigrants questions about their identity, travel plans, and intentions. Determine if they have any outstanding warrants or are wanted for other crimes.


• Tactical operations: Join forces with other law enforcement agencies during high-risk missions like rescuing hostages or pursuing suspects through rough terrain.
