We are a growing media and marketing company looking for an experienced Descript Video Editor who is highly skilled in editing talking head videos and repurposing long-form content into engaging short-form clips.
This is for someone who knows Descript inside and out — especially for creating clean, high-converting short-form content from podcasts, interviews, and educational videos.
This role starts as project-based, with potential for ongoing work.
What You'll Be Editing:
Podcast episodes
Talking head educational videos
Interview-style content
Short-form vertical clips (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
Social media promotional cuts
Responsibilities:
Edit primarily inside Descript
Create engaging short-form clips from long-form videos
Add captions (clean, properly timed, visually appealing)
Remove filler words and tighten pacing
Add basic motion graphics, text overlays, and layout adjustments
Export in proper formats for different platforms
Follow brand style guidelines
Requirements:
Advanced experience using Descript
Strong understanding of pacing for short-form content
Experience editing talking head videos
Ability to identify viral-worthy hooks from long-form content
Attention to detail (audio cleanup, clean cuts, smooth transitions)
Fast turnaround and good communication
Nice to Have:
Experience editing for coaches, dentists, or service-based businesses
Basic understanding of social media trends
Experience with YouTube optimization

We're looking for someone reliable, creative, and detail-oriented. If it's a good fit, this can turn into consistent weekly work.
Contract duration of 3 to 6 months. with 30 hours per week.
