Provides expertise in the development and implementation of I&IT Continuous Improvement (CI) plans, standards, and roadmaps for quality assurance of enterprise applications. Works with I&IT teams and I&IT vendors to identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and knowledge transfer in all areas of I&IT by avoiding rework, rejects, waste, customer complaints and excessive cost. Engages 3rd party vendors in test planning and coordination of end-to-end testing activities. Is the recognized SME for all I&IT QA policy, process and procedure implementations, clarifications, improvements. Evaluates and tests new and modified software programs.
 

What will I be doing?

  • Develop and execute comprehensive QA and testing plans aligned with project schedules, quality standards, and integrated I&IT timelines.
  • Translate high-level business and product requirements into detailed test specifications, use cases, test conditions, and expected results.
  • Collaborate with internal I&IT teams and third-party vendors to coordinate end-to-end testing, including functional, non-functional, system integration, and UAT activities.
  • Manage test execution, defect tracking, documentation review, and line-of-business participation to ensure coverage and quality outcomes.
  • Evaluates testing methodologies, analyzes execution results, and leverages automated testing tools to enhance efficiency and coverage.
  • Support change control processes and contributes to continuous improvement of QA practices for new and existing technologies.
  • Acts as a liaison between testing teams, business units, transit agencies, and service providers to plan, execute, and monitor QA activities, facilitate workshops, and align competing priorities.
  • Leads test planning and scenario execution, identifies operational risks and improvement opportunities, and ensures QA activities align with project timelines and quality standards.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to leadership, interprets qualitative and quantitative data to support evidence-based decisions, and defines meaningful QA metrics.
  • Conducts post-implementation reviews, captures lessons learned, and recommends process improvements to strengthen future project delivery and quality outcomes.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Education: Completion of a diploma in a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Experience: Demonstrated years' progressive experience in software application testing and quality assurance.
  • Experience in Microsoft .NET Technologies, GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and SQL Server, and familiarity with transportation operations terms and concepts are beneficial.
  • Experience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation
