GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Components and Manufacturing Team

As a Mechanical Engineer in on our Manufacturing team, you'll help drive innovative manufacturing solutions across products ranging from underwater acoustic arrays to large mechanical assemblies. You'll design tooling, fixtures, and mechanical components that improve production efficiency and support new product introductions. The role includes reviewing technical drawings, maintaining clear documentation, and contributing mechanical expertise to strengthen manufacturing processes. Collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams and a focus on high‑quality, manufacturable design are key to success.

Responsibilities

  • Support GeoSpectrum's manufacturing activities across a varied product range including underwater acoustic sensor arrays and large mechanical winch assemblies.
  • Assess and address tooling and equipment needs for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Design and develop manufacturing fixtures and tooling to support efficient and repeatable production processes.
  • Support product updates and introduction through detailed design of mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring manufacturability and performance.
  • Check and review mechanical drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation defining system configurations and interfaces.
  • Perform mechanical engineering design and analysis in support of development of manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System across documentation, processes, and production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of design experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset:
    • Product configuration and detailed mechanical drafting
    • Fixture or Tooling Design
    • Marine or Underwater Component Design
    • Testing and Validation
    • Lean Manufacturing
    • Manufacturing process design
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently

Security Requirements
