Your Contribution You are an enthusiastic engineer with a knack for low-level programming, networking protocols, and hardware-software integration, complemented by strong collaborative and communication skills. You thrive on tackling complex challenges with innovative thinking and meticulous execution. Your responsibilities involve developing and maintaining crucial software and tools that ensure compliance between hardware, optimize network performance, and enhance security for Cisco’s core products like operating systems and networking stacks. By managing your time efficiently and streamlining processes, you will deliver high-quality solutions that instill resilience and efficiency within global communications infrastructure, playing a direct role in Cisco’s leadership in trusted, scalable networking technologies. Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled in a certification program (e.g., Boot Camp, Apprenticeship, Community College) or an undergraduate degree program.
Proficient in C programming and experienced with embedded Linux, along with a solid grasp of operating system principles.
Familiarity with networking principles and concepts, including routing protocols.
Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Understanding of DevSecOps practices and their relevance in software development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications Conceptual knowledge or practical experience with AI/ML.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and security protocols.
Experience in FPGA development.
Familiarity with signal and power integrity, as well as PCB design principles.

Below are salary ranges for certain locations, while additional details can be provided during the hiring process. U.S. employees receive a wide range of benefits , subject to eligibility. Employees in the U.S. are eligible for paid time away, including: 10 paid holidays each year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees.
1 paid day for the employee's birthday, paid year-end shutdown, and 4 personal wellness days.
16 days of paid vacation per year for non-exempt employees, accrued at 4.92 hours per pay period.
Exempt employees participate in a flexible vacation program with no set limit on vacation time.
80 hours of sick leave granted annually, with an opportunity to carry forward up to 80 unused hours.
Additional paid time off may be requested for family emergencies.
Optional 10 paid volunteer days each calendar year.
