The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, University of Toronto is seeking to recruit a full time Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon to a position at the University Health Network. Applicants must have successfully completed an accredited medical school and residency training with specialization in Otolaryngology– Head & Neck Surgery. Effective start date is July 1, 2026 or as mutually agreed upon.

The position is well suited to an early to mid-career Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon with subspecialty interest in otology/neurotology and hearing and balance disorders. It is expected this individual will have the necessary advanced skills in otology/lateral skull base surgery.  Expertise in endoscopic minimally invasive ear surgery would be an asset along with a strong commitment for medical management of vestibular disorders. The successful candidate will have advanced clinical training with a Postgraduate degree or equivalent, fellowship training in Otology/Neurotology and a research focus in hearing and vestibular disorders as well as otologic and lateral skull base surgery.

University Health Network is a secondary, tertiary and quaternary health science centre providing services to Toronto, southern Ontario and Canada. The Department of Otolaryngology at the University Health Network is a sub-specialty focused in head and neck oncology and otology/neurotology. The hearing and balance program is a premier program within the country, particularly for vestibular disorders with a strong clinical and academic focus. The hearing and balance program additionally supports patients with hearing and balance sequelae of cancer treatments at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.  In addition to regular otologic procedures, the successful candidate will be involved in oncologic temporal bone surgery for head and neck cancers and will collaborate with the Division of Neurosurgery at Toronto Western Hospital for lateral skull base disease processes. The candidate will be encouraged to foster links with other sites through the Division of Otology and Neurotology at University of Toronto, the Division of Neurosurgery as well as the Krembil Research Institute at UHN. We are seeking a candidate interested in developing new techniques and programs in hearing and vestibular rehabilitation for the UHN patient population and beyond.

The candidate must hold an MD degree and a Fellowship in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada or equivalent and will be eligible for an independent practice license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. An advanced degree equivalent to a Master degree or PhD would be preferable.  He/She should be eligible for appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto at a rank commensurate with his/her qualifications and academic achievements starting with Assistant Professor. Remuneration is subject to an agreed job description, as well as commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2026 or until the position is filled.
