Your Opportunity
This role will work on Water/Wastewater projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance and supervision of a senior engineer/designer. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, field work, coordination of tasks, and meeting attendance and recording. The smaller projects that this role may be assigned to will have relatively few complex features.
This role will assist senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments and may assist in the analysis of proposed projects.
Your Key Responsibilities

Perform civil engineering design which may include engineering drawings, hydraulic system calculations, pipe design calculations, engineering reports, design criteria, and prepare applications for regulatory agencies.

Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.

Attend and assists in client, contractor, stakeholder, and regulatory agency meetings to gain a better understanding of client's goals, project requirements, site assessments, key challenges, coordination.

Assist in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.

Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.

Assist with the development of job specific discipline specifications.

Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.

Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.

Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
