Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking a motivated 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Apprentice Welder with structural experience to join our team in our Bonnyville Shop. Candidates must live in the Bonnyville/Cold Lake area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform welding on structural steel components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
  • Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components
  • Welds metal parts as specified by layout or welding diagram (blue prints, engineering drawings and weld specifications)
  • Operate shop equipment including overhead cranes, grinders, drills, and cutting equipment
  • Follow CWB welding procedures and company quality standards
  • Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure quality and compliance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and Alberta OH&S regulations
  • Work collaboratively with shop foremen, welders, and fitters to meet production schedules

Qualifications

  • Registered 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Apprentice Welder in Alberta
  • Previous experience in structural steel fabrication (shop experience preferred)
  • Valid CWB tickets considered an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Solid understanding of welding procedures and structural fabrication processes
  • You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and a part of a team
