Join our Materials Engineering team in Vancouver, BC, where your curiosity for concrete and other construction materials technology will help shape resilient, high‑performing infrastructure across British Columbia, Canada, and worldwide.

As a Junior to Intermediate Materials Engineer, you'll deepen your technical expertise, learn from seasoned specialists, and contribute to projects spanning industrial, commercial, municipal, transportation, and residential sectors. This is your chance to build hands‑on experience and be part of a collaborative group delivering practical, science‑driven solutions.

Your Impact

You will contribute to meaningful project outcomes by:

  • Supporting materials consulting for new construction, condition assessments, and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure.
  • Conducting fieldwork and site reviews and preparing technical documentation that strengthens project delivery.
  • Assisting in developing specifications and participating in contract administration activities focused on concrete and construction materials.
  • Preparing proposals and technical reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participating in concrete mix design, review, and optimization activities.
  • Supporting structural repair and rehabilitation design tasks.
  • Assisting with non‑destructive evaluation of reinforced concrete structures.
  • Contributing to service‑life modelling and durability assessments.
  • Assisting with pavement mix design and review.
  • Performing field and laboratory testing of concrete and aggregates aligned with CSA and ASTM standards.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • A degree in Civil or Materials Engineering with a passion for construction materials; a Master's or PhD is an asset.
  • 1–5 years of experience in materials engineering or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams.
  • Eligibility for EIT or P.Eng. registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
  • Willingness to travel for project work and perform duties in varied environmental conditions, including remote sites and inclement weather.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
  • Strong technical writing, analysis, and communication abilities.

Compensation:

  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77,400 – $102,500
  • MB & ON: $70,600 – $97,200
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $69,900 – $92,900
