About The Role
Peoples Group is seeking a dynamic Business Development Associate to join our Real Estate Finance team based in Calgary. This role focuses on CMHC-insured and conventional multi-family financing across Western Canada, leveraging an extensive Broker network and direct borrower relationships.

Experience in CMHC-insured commercial mortgage financing or other similar real estate financing experience in Western Canada.

About The Day-to-day
Loan Origination and Underwriting: Originate and underwrite CMHC-insured and conventional construction and term mortgages.
Credit Application Preparation:
Support the development of internal credit submissions to Peoples Trust's Credit Committee.
Team Leadership and Mentorship: Guide and support Real Estate Associates, Analysts, and Coordinators.
Funding Collaboration: Collaborate with the Commercial Mortgage Funding team and external legal counsel to ensure efficient funding of all assigned loans.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the Regional Vice President and Business Development Managers to drive the regional success.
Business Development: Lead marketing and outreach efforts to grow the regional mortgage portfolio.
Credit Management: Coordinate with Credit Group to monitor portfolio performance, identify and manage problem loans, and review appraisals and environmental reports in line with credit policies.
Construction Loan Oversight: Manage CMHC-insured construction loans to completion and term takeout.
About The Qualifications
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
Minimum 1-2 years of CMHC underwriting experience
Strong understanding of AML and KYC requirements
Demonstrated ability to generate sales and market development
Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Clear and effective communication skills

About The Work Environment
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Compensation
The expected salary for this role is approximately $95, $105,000.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
