Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Coding Specialist with extensive coding experience in wound care and surgical procedures for patients in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, knowledgeable in complex coding scenarios.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for wound care services and surgical procedures
• Review medical records to ensure complete and compliant documentation
• Work with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards
Qualifications:
• Extensive coding experience required (wound care and surgical coding strongly required)
• Experience in LTAC or hospital-based coding preferred
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
• CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification required
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Important Notes:
• Schedule: 9AM-4PM Pacific
• Must stay on Virtual Meeting Room DURING SHIFT.
We are looking for a candidate who can step in with confidence and handle complex coding cases with accuracy and efficiency.
Contract duration of 3 to 6 months. with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: Medical Billing & Coding, Data Entry, Microsoft Excel
