Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast growing, well established medical device industry leader as a Warehouse Distribution Operator 1 at Cook Canada, we have 2 positions available.

The Distribution Operator 1 is responsible for ensuring the finished product is received and put away into inventory, picked, packed, and shipped in an efficient and accurate manner. The Distribution Operator 1 operates under direct supervision and may be required to deviate or make adjustments to routine problems. The Distribution Operator 1 will help to resolve routine operational issues with basic prior work experience, education, or interpretation of work instructions. The Distribution Operator 1 may be required to escalate operational, technical, or process concerns to a team lead.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform work in compliance with local quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform work within local Warehouse Management System, utilizing scanners and/or computers where applicable.
  • Meets or exceeds expectations and/or rates established by leadership.
  • Participates in local and/or global projects where operator feedback is relevant.
  • Understands and implements changes received from direct leadership and project teams that impact role.
  • Work well with peers in team environment to support departmental goals.
  • Actively participates in team meetings and provides improvement ideas to leadership for review.
  • Escalates any customer impacting quality issues or internal non conformances to leadership.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma or participating in a Cook sponsored program to obtain a High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma.
  • Requires 5 years related experience, preferably in a warehouse environment
  • Local or standard WMS system knowledge required

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Must have effective communication skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
  • Able to professionally communicate thoughts and ideas.
  • Positively able to receive feedback and apply to their role.
  • Able to complete all tasks given from leadership.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in fast paced situations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to visually recognize product/catalog descriptions.
  • Ability to work standing and be mobile for a full eight-hour day.

Physical Requirements:

  • Moderate exposure to noise level in the work environment that is moderate to occasionally loud.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves boxes up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent repetitive motion.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, carry, feel or touch; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements.
