Role/Location Specific

  • Keyera's Northern Allowance is a tiered incentive program based on years of service, currently offered to employees working at the following locations: Grande Prairie Office, Wapiti, Simonette, Gold Creek, South Cheecham, and Fox Creek Terminal. THE POSITION

The position is responsible for providing Subject Matter Expertise level of support to all of Keyera's projects and existing operating assets for Rotating Equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and maintain technical specifications and standards related to Rotating Equipment
  • Support maintenance and administration of the corporate AML as applicable
  • Interface with Project Managers, other design disciplines, and EPCM's to execute assigned engineering work
  • Provide direction and oversight into engineering activities performed by EPCM's in respect to rotating equipment
  • Review technical documents such as engineering drawings (including assembly drawings, isometrics, vessel drawings, pump/compressor drawings, seal drawings, etc.)
  • Approval of critical documents such as Bid Lists, Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, calculations, etc to support procurement
  • Thoroughly understand the design, installation, and fabrication of mechanical equipment in industrial gas plants
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Junior Engineers as required
  • Perform design review, design verification, and authentication for the design and engineering work done by others
  • Perform shop/field walk-downs during construction/fabrication phases
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests, walkthroughs, and overhauls at OEM facilities for major equipment
  • Conduct site visits to operational facilities and participate in in-person meetings on location
  • Providing technical advice on design processes or construction methods
  • Advise on the development of new engineering methods and participate in short and long-range planning
  • Ensure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards, and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service-oriented with the following qualifications:

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta is preferred
  • 15+ years of engineering experience in delivering projects and/or providing operational support
  • Extensive rotating equipment experience with experience in greenfield projects as well as brownfield revamps
  • Thorough understanding of standard engineering methods, technologies, and computerized design techniques
  • Have an in-depth understanding of applicable regulatory requirements in North America
  • Extensive experience with API, ASME, and ISO codes and standards 
  • Competent use of relevant rotating equipment software as well as standard office applications
