Paralegal
Full-Time (On-site)

The Paralegal will provide support to our General Counsel, Associate Counsel and the broader Global Legal Department in a number of critical areas. This position is responsible for contract drafting, management and review, contract database and file maintenance, potential assistance with management of litigation files, research and special projects and additional support to the General Counsel or Associate Counsel as needed.
How You'll Help:
- Contract Management
- Coordinate intake/review of contracts by various stakeholders within the business while utilizing in-house contract review software; answer questions about the process and make changes to contracts
- Review documents and transmit information and documents to outside counsel and company personnel with minimal guidance from the supervising lawyer
- Manage contract review process and conduct follow-up as required (what to do and who to review) · Manage client feedback
- Review changes, determine appropriate individuals to follow-up with
- Liaise to stakeholders (including legal) to work through terms - continuous follow-up until ultimate resolution
- Maintain contract database, template creation and modification
- Administer routine contract requirements, maintain contract calendar or follow-ups, prepare and file required reports
- Litigation Management
- Conduct file reviews and prepare resources (i.e. documentation, people, etc.) for litigation
- Edit / review letters (i.e. opposing counsel, broker warnings/contract terminations)
- Small Claims – Research and provide general assistance in defending or filing small claims. Work with business stakeholders to coordinate defense, attend and/or organize settlement conferences, obtain monetary authority, etc.
- Miscellaneous
- Furnish litigation support including document and fact gathering, review and preparation of discovery materials, coordination of work through outside counsel and file set-up and maintenance
- Manage special projects outsourced to consultants or outside counsel
- Prepare presentations as required by manager
- Administer routine contract requirements, maintain contract calendar or follow-ups, prepare and file required reports
- Develop and implement reports for monitoring outside legal spending. Review, code and process legal bills from outside counsel
- Undertake other ad hoc projects
- Other projects/duties as assigned or needed
Your Skills & Experience:
- Paralegal/Legal Assistant diploma or minimum 5+ years of related experience
- Driven and self-motivated with a strong desire for learning
- Extremely organized with a strong sense of priority, urgency and commitment to deadlines
- Exceptional writing skills, and detail oriented
- Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize multiple projects
- Ability to work independently while functioning well in a team environment
- Ability to understand general business operations, issues and dynamics beyond the scope of basic legal issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of other departments in order to support their
- functions as well as to assist them in supporting the legal staff
- Fluency in English, communication in French is beneficial but not required
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint &
- Excel)
- Experience with contract review software considered an asset
