You'll Do
Work in a safe manner using established SOPs, following all lockouts and protocols, and completing PTHAs.
Preventative maintenance and repair of conveyors, various belt and chain transfer and drive systems, sawing, debarking, sorting, stacking, and compressors.
Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up and repair of equipment and machinery.
Work in man-lifts with the use of fall protection equipment.
Repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems, pumps, valves and cylinders.
Work positively in a team environment.
You Have
Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace.
Sawmill experience is an asset.
A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification or a Millwrighting Apprentice preparing to enroll in their 4th
Mechanical aptitude; excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work closely with other trades and employees.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible schedule for workdays, nights, and weekend shifts.
Compensation Package
The hourly pay for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.

The District of Chetwynd is located in the foothills of the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains. It is British Columbia's entrance to the mighty Peace River Country. It is located at the junction of Highways 97 and 29 and the CN Rail mainline. Chetwynd is the natural transportation hub of the Peace River area. Chetwynd has a population of about 3,100 with a trading area of about 7,000 people.
