Job Description
CIMA+'s Infrastructure team combines top-notch skills with an intimate understanding of the local community to deliver customized infrastructure services for municipalities and real-estate developers. We have delivered hundreds of projects across Canada, including innovative solutions for the full spectrum of water and wastewater assets, on time and on budget. Due to continuing growth, CIMA+ has an immediate opening for a Contract Administrator working out of the Mississauga, Ontario Office. This position will provide the opportunity to join our innovative and dynamic municipal infrastructure group, providing support for a multitude of engineering disciplines including, linear infrastructure and road reconstruction. You will be working on a variety of infrastructure projects including municipal road construction, water supply and distribution, and waste and stormwater collection.
Primary Responsibilities
Management of inspection services and quality assurance
Manage the measurement of construction progress and the preparation of payment certificates
Management of written and photographic record keeping including the submission of reports
Review and provide recommendations of Contract Change Requests and Claims
Provide conflict resolution and field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues
Management of responses to Contractor's RFI's and clarification requests
Attend and lead construction progress meetings
Liaise with the contractor, client and Municipal officials on project updates and progress, including preparation and issuance of project reports
Familiarity with current traffic control regulations
Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations, municipal approvals, and local by-laws
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of contract administration or relevant experience in linear infrastructure and road reconstruction.
A thorough knowledge of construction and contracting principles, methods, procedures, and practices including contract administration relating to changes, claims and delays.
Experience with contracts involving micro tunnelling and other trenchless technologies
Experienced in project planning, risk management, cost management, schedule management and preparation/administration of contract documents and specifications
Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team
MTO Class 'G' driver's license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle
Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, with matters arising from construction projects
Positive attitude with good leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and employment record
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Possess working knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) for Municipal projects
Must be certified or eligible to be certified by either OACETT or PEO.
Knowledge of working with Builterra or Procore (an asset)
Demonstrate skills in the use of computer utilizing programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
