Architectural Specification Manager – Vancouver, BC Canada location
This is an exciting and rare opportunity within a rapidly expanding company, offering abundant prospects for both financial and professional advancement.
As the Architectural Specification Manager, you'd be responsible for driving growth by educating and building relationships with specifiers (architects, designers, engineers, etc.) within their assigned territory. The role is focused on high-quality outreach, consistent follow-up, and in-person engagement. We're seeking a Architectural Specification Manager to expand our presence on the West Coast in Canada and the U.S. market. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience educating and influencing architects/specifiers and driving product adoption through the design and construction cycle. Here is a breakdown of your responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct 10-12 in-person meetings with specifiers per week
Make 100+ follow-up calls to firms in the territory per month
Develop and maintain relationships with key specifiers and decision-makers
Coordinate travel and meeting schedules in collaboration with the BDC
Travel throughout the west coast every week (mostly in the USA)
Build and manage a healthy pipeline of specifier-driven opportunities
Maintain accurate tracking of activities and progress in CRM
What We're Looking For
5–10+ years of experience in business development or specification sales in building products, architectural systems, or construction materials.
Proven success in educating and influencing architects on premium building products.
Existing network of architectural, design, and construction industry contacts in West Coast or surrounding markets.
Strong communication and presentation skills — comfortable leading AIA/CEU presentations or design meetings.
Track record of winning specifications and driving revenue growth.
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and able to manage a territory with minimal oversight.
Must have a USA E1 visa or dual citizenship
Territory Model:
Each territory will have a dedicated BDM and BDC. The BDM leads outreach and engagement, while the BDC supports with scheduling, logistics, and trip planning.
What You'll Do
Architect Engagement – Build relationships with architects, landscape architects, and specifiers; present and educate on our premium product line.
Specification Growth – Secure inclusion of our products in architectural specifications for commercial, institutional, and high-profile projects.
Market Development – Identify new business opportunities with general contractors, developers, and commercial property owners.
Technical Expertise – Deliver product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and continuing education sessions (AIA CEUs a plus).
Sales Leadership – Own the full business development cycle from architect education → specification → contractor adoption → project win.
Collaboration – Work closely with our marketing, operations, and leadership teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
