We are seeking an experienced Laravel developer with strong API integration experience to implement these services cleanly and securely within our existing checkout and admin workflows.
The objective of this project is to integrate core third-party services into the existing custom Laravel e-commerce website
This scope is limited to the implementation and configuration of:
-EasyPost (Shipping & Fulfillment)
-TaxCloud (Sales Tax Calculation)
1. Shipping & Fulfillment Integration (EasyPost)
Objective
Integrate EasyPost to support shipping rate retrieval, label generation, and shipment tracking within our existing Laravel platform.
Scope Includes
• Full EasyPost API integration
• Carrier configuration and management within EasyPost
• Retrieval of live shipping rates during checkout
• Display of shipping options to customers in real time
• Shipping label generation for fulfilled orders
• Shipment tracking and status updates
• Admin-level visibility into shipment details within backend
• Synchronization of origin and destination addresses
Notes & Assumptions
• EasyPost account credentials will be provided by the client
• Integration covers standard shipping functionality only
• No custom carrier contract negotiation is included in scope
2. Sales Tax Calculation Integration (TaxCloud)
Objective
Automatically calculate and apply applicable U.S. sales tax during checkout based on customer information and product taxability.
Scope Includes
• Integration with TaxCloud for automated sales tax calculation
• Real-time sales tax calculation based on billing and/or shipping address
• Display of calculated tax amount to the customer at checkout prior to payment
• Storage of tax data with each order for reporting and compliance purposes
• Handling of tax exemption logic (if applicable)
• Proper logging and error handling
Notes & Assumptions
• TaxCloud account credentials will be provided by the client
• Tax rules, product taxability settings, and compliance responsibility remain with the client
• Integration is limited to calculation and reporting support (no filing services included)
Technical Requirements
• Strong Laravel experience (5+ years preferred)
• Experience integrating third-party REST APIs
• Experience with EasyPost and/or similar shipping APIs
• Experience with TaxCloud, Avalara, or tax automation platforms
• Clean code practices and documentation
• Ability to test thoroughly before deployment
Deliverables
• Fully functional EasyPost integration
• Fully functional TaxCloud integration
• Real-time shipping + tax calculation at checkout
• Admin visibility for shipments
• Accurate storage of tax data per order
• Complete QA testing
• Deployment-ready implementation
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 30 hours per week.
