Overview
I'm building a structured diagnostic product.
The logic, scoring, and content are finalized.
I need a visual systems designer to define and apply a cohesive visual language to:
A long-form assessment flow (95 questions)
Structured section transitions within the assessment
A procedural "computing results" reveal state
A multi-section interpretive results report
This is not a UX redesign.
This is not a dashboard product.
This is not marketing UI.
This is about hierarchy, restraint, and structural clarity.
What This Project Is
Designing a:
Structured diagnostic instrument
Long-form question flow
Procedural analysis reveal moment
Narrative-style results report
It is closer to:
A psychological evaluation document
A strategy memo interface
A structured assessment report
It is not:
A SaaS analytics dashboard
A BI tool
A marketing website
A gamified quiz
If your portfolio is primarily KPI dashboards and colorful SaaS cards, this likely isn't the right fit.
Scope (MVP Defined)
Design and apply a visual system to:
Login screen
Welcome / orientation page
One assessment screen (question + scale/multi-select)
Section transition screen
Example: "Now let's analyze your collapse pattern (10 questions)"
Procedural computing screen
Structured stage progression with visible completion states
One dense report section (interpretive content-heavy layout)
Results summary page
Basic user dashboard (minimal, status-only)
Simple admin overview (table + metrics only)
The core of the work is the assessment flow and report architecture.
Experience Elements
The visual system must support:
• A 95-question flow without visual fatigue
• Clear psychological section breaks
• A procedural "analysis in progress" state with visible stage progression
• A structured interpretive report layout
• Calm, restrained authority
The "computing results" screen should feel:
Systematic
Procedural
Calm
Serious
No gamification.
No celebratory effects.
No dramatic animation.
Design Principles (Non-Negotiable)
The product must feel:
Calm
Structured
Precise
Typographically disciplined
Institutional but not clinical
Hierarchy must come from:
Type scale
Weight
Spacing
Containment
Not from:
Heavy accent colors
Gradients
Decorative illustrations
Over-rounded UI
Marketing-style layouts
The report should feel closer to a structured document than a web app.
Technical Constraints
Must be reproducible with:
Tailwind CSS v4
CSS custom properties (tokenized system)
4px spacing grid
shadcn/ui primitives (reskin only)
No layout patterns that break in @react-pdf
The report layout must translate cleanly to PDF.
Deliverables
Defined type scale (rem-based)
Defined spacing system (4px-based)
Minimal neutral palette
Component states documented
Figma file with reusable components
9 designed screens listed above
No brand exploration.
No animation system.
No UX restructuring.

Strong examples of:
Long-form structured layout

One example of a content-dense layout
One example of structured report-style UI
Confirmation you're comfortable designing for PDF constraints
