JOB SUMMARY
As directed by warehouse supervisor, general labours perform material handling, clean-up, packaging and other activities pertaining to the warehouse
This role is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic who wants to learn warehousing, shipping, receiving, and metal fabrication. We will provide all necessary on-the-job training and certification to the right candidate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESYou will work closely with our Shipper/Receiver to manage the flow of all incoming and outgoing products.
You will work side-by-side with our Fabricator, supporting them on production orders and learning the process from start to finish. We will provide training in core metalworking skills

Duties
- Follows all safety policies including wearing appropriate safety attire at all times
- Assist contract hardware to ship partial shipments or complete shipments of their projects via PQS (project quantity summary)
- Assist departments such as shipping and fabrication
- Using the PQS itemize every product, detect discrepancies as early as possible
- Build picking order slip, package required products, mark package to be shipped, arrange shipment when necessary
- Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant using powered equipment
- Complete work orders, process order-filling duties
Preparing materials for fabrication, including cutting, grinding, and basic assembly.
Learning safe operation of tools like the band saw, cutting saw, drill press, grinder, and other shop equipment.
Assisting with joining techniques, including basic drilling, riveting, and welding.
- Resolve issues with returned products: inspect to ensure products are in re-salable condition, create new picking slip for returned goods, re-stock
- Sort, pack, crate and stock shelves
- Clean work areas and equipment
- Follows direction and instruction from supervisor
- Perform other laboring and elemental activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read and interpret order slips
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Product knowledge an asset
- Physically demanding, ability to lift heavy objects
Minimum 1-2 years experience
