Our Cloud Technology Group is comprised of dedicated professionals shaping Akamai's aspirations to create an industry-leading user experience. We take ownership for the design and development for core interfaces and services. We create a user experience that allows customers ease of use and helps our internal stakeholders to excel their development through using our design system.

Partner with the best

You will join a global team that collaborates across time zones and lead a team of engineers responsible for delivering high-quality, enterprise web experiences. You will balance technical oversight with people management, coaching engineers, clarifying requirements, driving execution, and ensuring alignment with product and design partners. While you will bring front-end expertise, your role will focus on leadership, mentorship, and technical direction over hands-on development.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Managing, mentoring, and developing a team of front-end engineers proficient in enterprise user interfaces written in Angular, React, and Lit
• Providing technical guidance and setting best practices for front-end architecture and UI development
• Partnering with product management, UX/Designers, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive user experiences
• Having oversight of delivery across the full project lifecycle: organizing, planning, development, testing, and release
• Driving consistency through shared components (Design System experience is a plus), tooling, and engineering standards
• Supporting hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, and career growth for team members

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Demonstrate solid knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, TypeScript and JavaScript
• Have experience with Angular or React
• Possess a clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Source Code Management Systems (we use git)
• Be familiar with software testing concepts including unit, functional, regression continuous integration, and performance testing
• Have prior leadership experience and excellent communication skills and a passion for building inclusive, high-performing engineering teams
