Are you an experienced Quality professional with strong Health & Safety expertise, looking to take ownership of a critical function within a growing manufacturing organisation?One of our long-standing clients is seeking a Quality & H&S Manager to lead their quality strategy, drive continuous improvement, and champion a safety-first culture across the business.

About the Role

In this senior position, you will have full responsibility for maintaining and developing the company's Quality Management System and Health & Safety framework. You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with ISO9001, driving operational excellence, and supporting both manufacturing and non-manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management

  • Own, review, and improve the Quality Management System to maintain ISO9001 compliance.
  • Plan and lead internal audits to ensure adherence to standards and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Use effective problem-solving tools to drive continuous quality improvements across the organisation.
  • Define and monitor quality metrics (e.g., Cost of Poor Quality) to demonstrate progress.
  • Collaborate with customers to communicate improvement activities and align expectations.
  • Ensure SOPs are fit for purpose and support quality consistency.

Health & Safety

  • Develop and implement H&S policies in line with UK and international regulations (e.g., ISO 45001).
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure all required controls are in place.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver H&S training and awareness activity across all teams.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to incidents, compliance and training.
  • Promote a proactive, safety-first culture company-wide.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop the quality team, fostering capability and growth.
  • Work cross-functionally with suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
  • Prepare and present quality and H&S performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all quality and safety matters externally and internally.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Quality Engineering/Quality Management.
  • Manufacturing experience is essential.
  • Strong leadership and people-management capability.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor , Six Sigma , NEBOSH , or similar certifications.
