The Sales Support Associate plays a vital role in supporting both our sales team and retail operations. In this dual role, you will assist our Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs) by managing customer accounts and orders, while also helping customers at the retail counter by providing expert advice on building materials and assisting with purchases. Your contributions will help drive sales growth, ensure customer satisfaction, and create a positive shopping experience. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations including ordering, stocking, merchandising, and inventory control; inputting orders and quote material lists accurately; assisting customers with product selection and providing excellent service; writing tickets for stock and special orders; working closely with outside sales staff and supporting their accounts; monitoring open orders and ensuring timely completion; setting up loads with dispatch and coordinating deliveries and credit pick-ups; processing confirmations, invoices, and credits; maintaining a clean, organized sales floor; and operating cash register accurately. Desired skills, knowledge, and qualifications include a high school diploma or GED required, 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred, but not required, experience in construction or construction sales is a plus, familiarity with BizTrack is a plus, ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to assess situations, prioritize tasks, and make timely decisions, ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, comfortable using office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, copiers, etc, professional, timely, and considerate with excellent customer service skills, and able to operate and manage a cash register accurately and process large amounts of information.
