Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting our enterprise network across datacenter, cloud, and remote environments.
You will work with modern networking and security platforms including Meraki, Palo Alto, Prisma Access, Cisco Nexus, SD-WAN, Azure, and Cloudflare to deliver resilient, secure, and high-performing connectivity for our business.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in complex hybrid environments and enjoys blending traditional networking with cloud and security architecture.
Essential Job Functions:
Engage in WFG company culture that emphasizes engagement in our 4 Cs, quality of work and high performance. Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure Manage and optimize Cisco Nexus datacenter switching environments Configure and maintain fiber channel switches supporting SAN infrastructure Deploy and manage Meraki switching, wireless, and SD-WAN solutions Administer Palo Alto firewalls, including policies, NAT, threat prevention, and HA configurations Support and optimize Prisma Access and GlobalProtect VPN environments Implement and maintain secure connectivity between datacenter and Azure Design, implement, and support F5 BIG-IP platforms for high availability, load balancing, and application security Design and manage Cloudflare services (WAF, Zero Trust, tunnels, DNS, DDoS protection) Maintain SD-WAN architectures for branch connectivity and performance optimization Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, firewall, and VPN issues Participate in network architecture planning and capacity management Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams Collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as required Expert Level Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
IP Routing: BGP, MP-BGP, OSPF, RIP, MPLS IP Routing Platforms ISR4K, ASR1K, ASR 9k. Switching Protocols: VLAN, DOT1Q, RSTP, Ether channel (LACP & PAgP), vPC. Switching Platforms: Cisco Nexus, Cisco Cat3K, 4K, 6K, 9K. Security Protocols: IPSEC VPN, GRE, MAB, 802.1x, MACSEC. Technologies: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, GRE, QoS, Multicast, DMVPN, SD Access, SDWAN, Cisco DNAc, VxLAN, 4G/5G, WiFi 6, IOTMS. Next generation firewall configuration to include advanced packet insptection for SaaS and DLP. Experince with hybrid on premise/cloud networkging MS Azure, Amazon AWS and Google GPC. Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions. Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems. Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience Hands-on experience with:
Cisco Nexus (datacenter switching) Meraki (switching, wireless, SD-WAN) Palo Alto Firewalls Prisma Access VPN F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers GlobalProtect VPN Fiber Channel switching (SAN environments) Cloudflare (WAF, Zero Trust, DNS, edge security) Microsoft Azure networking SD-WAN technologies Network Monitoring Tools
Strong understanding of:
BGP, OSPF, EIGRP VLANs, VXLAN, VRFs IPsec VPNs Network segmentation and Zero Trust architecture High availability design
Experience supporting hybrid cloud networking (datacenter + Azure) Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Bachelor degree in information technology, computer science or a related field. Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources. Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization. A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Dependable and flexible when necessary.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job typically operates in a professional office environment, but may depending on circumstances qualify for telecommuter position. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Requirements/ADA:
No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. After hours and weekend availability is required for incident response and project work.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
