Security Enforcement Specialist

The U.S. Border Patrol is a law enforcement agency responsible for safeguarding the nation's borders and protecting its citizens from threats both within and outside the country.

As a BPA, you will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect America by detecting and preventing illicit activities at or near the borders.

• Detecting suspicious activity and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws


• Inspecting documents, baggage, vehicles, and cargo for signs of contraband or illegal entry into the United States


• Maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations to prevent undocumented noncitizens from entering or exiting the country undetected

You must have prior experience in public safety work with sound judgment in making decisions regarding use of firearms as well as analyzing information rapidly while dealing effectively with people in connection with law enforcement matters.
